Charles Joe Paris, age 70, of Adrian, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Blissfield Place. He was born on June 13, 1950, in Dallas, GA, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Dudley) Paris. Joe was a horse trainer and rode horses most of his life. Joe was a member of the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) and the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed Western Pleasure Horses, going to horse shows, and watching his daughter ride. Joe was a fun-loving man, who loved to make others laugh and you could always find him busy on the farm.
Joe is survived by his three daughters, Ty (Kyle Dougherty) Paris, Jodi (Wesley) Postell, and Michelle Fowler; two sisters, Nancy (Dwayne) Matthews and Jane Champion; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Joe’s request, cremation has taken place and a private service for family and loved ones is being planned for a later date.
As a lifelong horseman, Joe was involved with the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) from its inception and his family is requesting memorial gifts be directed to the NSBA Foundation Crisis Fund, in Joe’s name at https://www.nsba.com/trainers-crisis-fund or mailed to, NSBA Foundation, 1391 St Paul Avenue, Gurnee, IL 60031. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
