Linda Amos Wilt, age 77, of Henderson, NV, and Adrian, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, after a 6-and-a-half-year battle with lung, and subsequently, colon cancer. It was through her extraordinary will that she was able to beat the odds that long. She will be terribly missed by her grieving family. Her husband, Paul, took exquisite care of her throughout her battle, and was at her side constantly. She also leaves behind two beloved sons, Jeff, with sons, Alexander and Derek, as well as Kurt, his wife Jackie, and their two children, Erika and Evan. Her grandchildren were the impetus for her to fight so hard, for so long, as Grandma “Lulu” absolutely cherished them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie (Bailey) Amos, the family matriarch, and Roy Amos. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Brian (Mary Ann) Amos and Rick (Carol) Amos. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her brother, Larry Amos, and several nieces and nephews. Linda graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in Fairmont, WV in 1961, and continued her education at Fairmont State College, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Chi Sorority. She never missed an opportunity to return to Fairmont to enjoy the company of her classmates at all of her class reunions, as well as enjoy her family on holidays and vacations. Linda retired from her career as a case worker for the Department of Social Services for the State of Michigan and lived between Henderson, NV, and Adrian, MI. Linda was the ultimate mother and grandmother, and, despite the ravages of cancer, she still managed to attend as many of her grandchildren’s activities as she could. She loved to travel, and her fondest memories were of vacations with her sons and grandchildren. When she was young, she was an accomplished bowler, and more than once, she was urged to consider trying the professional tour. After she retired to Nevada, she enjoyed video poker. The family jokes that a wing of the Fiesta Henderson should be named after her.
The family would like to express the utmost appreciation to Ascension Borgess Medical Center and the West Michigan Cancer Center for the unparalleled medical care that she received. If not for their expertise, she would have passed many years ago.
