Thomas Almon Freeman, age 53, of Clayton, passed away on June 1, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 27, 1966, in Garden City to Almon and Jeanette (Scratch) Freeman. He married Annette OKopski on November 10, 1984, in Garden City and she survives. Tom enjoyed racing with his son and was an avid sports fan, especially for his beloved Detroit Lions. His fun, loving personality was infectious and he had a big heart. He was a kind friend to everyone and the best Papa ever. Tom will always be remembered by his family and friends as a proud family man who loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Annette and his mother, Jeanette, Tom is survived by his son, Thomas (Myrynda) Freeman of Jackson; two daughters, Amanda (Guthrie) Colburn of Concord and Heather (Corey) Davis of Jackson; four grandchildren, Macy, Tucker, Nixon, and Harper; two sisters, Darlene Hess of Garden City and Vonna (Red) Hopkins of Garden City; mother-in-law, Judith OKopski of Clayton; two brothers-in-law, Vern (Karyn) OKopski of Fowlerville and Jon (Pam) OKopski of Howell; one sister-in-law, Dawn (John) Boatman of Maybee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Almon and his father-in-law, LaVern OKopski.
A funeral service for Tom will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at Noon until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Cremation will follow.
