ADRIAN- David J. Collins, age 81, of Adrian, died June 26, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
He was born May 17, 1937, in Adrian to Bryning “Steve” and Alice T. (Ford) Collins. He had been employed by Consumer’s Power. He spent his winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. David enjoyed high school sports and had been a football referee for 20 years. He also enjoyed the outdoors and deer hunting. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, AOH, and the Dad’s and Fan’s Club at Catholic Central.
Dave is survived by his children, Michelle (Mark) Grassman of Neena, Wisconsin, Tim (Carmen) Collins of Columbia, Jeanine (Steve) Peterman of Grand Rapids, MI, Ted (Tammi) Collins of Mahomet, IL, Amy Kilar of Mahomet, IL, Betsy Lolley of Adrian, David Collins Jr. of Marysville, OH and Deanna (Ben) Swincicki of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Terry (Carol) Collins, Kate Sroufe, and Sharon Johnson, all of Adrian; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Danny Collins; and a daughter Pamela, in infancy.
Visitation for David will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy, presided
by Fr. Tom Murphy. Cremation to follow. Burial of cremains will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
