ADRIAN-Marjorie E. Day, age 94, of Adrian, died on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility surrounded by family.
She was born December 13, 1923, in Adrian, to Roy and Lillian (Marthey) Eberline. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended Siena Heights College. On March 12, 1971, she married Ralph Edward Day in Adrian. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1993. Marjorie was employed as an accountant by several area businesses and retired from the Oil Service Company in 1989. Marge greatly enjoyed spending time with her loving family, traveling, playing bridge, bowling, golfing, and many years volunteering. She served two years as a Red Cross nurses aid in WWII at Bixby Hospital, and three years at Ypsilanti State Hospital, 45 years as a volunteer for Promedica Bixby Hospital. She was a seven gallon blood donor. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s of Good Counsel Church, serving in many capacities including the Rosary Altar Society. She was a Boy Scout Leader, and member of Zonta International.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Gregory (Barbara) Day of Palmyra, VA; daughters, Sandra (Donald) Balhoff of Tyrone, GA and Joni (Larry) Condon of Adrian, MI; grandsons, Corbett (Nicole) Day, Matthew (Sherri) Day, Jeremy (Amy) Day, Ryan (Rebekah) Condon, Vance (Jennifer) Balhoff, Kyle Day; granddaughters, Shauna Day, Kayla Condon, Ashley Day; sister-in-law, Jeanne Day, and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husbands, R. Dean Leeser, Eugene Quigley, and Ralph Day; son Lance Day; her parents; sisters, Frances Hutchinson and Ellen Spohr; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at St. Mary’s of Good Counsel Parish, Adrian, MI with Father Tom Murphy presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Friday prior to the Liturgy at the church from 9:15-10:15a.m.
