Obituary of Marilyn Cummins

ADRIAN-MARILYN J. CUMMINS, age 87, of Adrian, passed away on February 6, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. 

 

She was born October 25, 1930, in Adrian to James and Marjorie Bowen Cummins.  She attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1948 graduate of Adrian High School.  She began her career that same year at Citizens Gas Fuel Company, retiring in 1995 as Executive Secretary and Asst. Corporate Secretary after 47 years.  She loved her family, her job, her home and yard, and enjoyed her get-togethers with her “48” classmates and retirees of Citizens Gas.  She was a life long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

 

She is survived by a niece, Kathy Sue (Tom) Cripe: a nephew, James Porter of Ypsilanti; a great-niece, Kathryn Ann (T.J.) Serakos of Minneapolis, MN; a great-great-niece, Mila; two great-great-nephews, Nico and Ted; and great friend and caregiver, Bill Butchart.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Carol Plank and Virginia Porter; and a brother, James in infancy.

 

Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Fr. Tom Murphy officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
