ADRIAN-Richard “Dick” F. Baron, age 79, of Adrian, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian. He was born May 26, 1938, in Adrian to Frank and Violet (Gorski) Baron. Dick graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Central High School in 1956. On August 9, 1975, in Adrian he married Mary Sharon Potter and she survives. He served in the National Guard. Dick held two jobs, being employed by American Chain and Cable and as an electrician for 30 years, retiring from both in 1988. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, U.A.W., and the American Legion Post #97. He loved cars and traveling. Richard loved to share music and dancing with Sharon, his children, and friends. Richard and Sharon wintered at the Sandpiper Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, FL from 1993 thru 2015.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by a son, John (Pamela Fetters) Baron of Manitou Beach; two daughters, Sherilyn (Raymon) Gallup of Morenci and Shanna Gronda of Grosse Ile, Michigan; a sister, Maryanne (Jack) Wright of Sacramento, California; six grandchildren, Ted, Emily, John, and Jacob Gronda and Samantha (Matt Sinks) Stover and Kallyn (Rayce Price) Stover; two great grandchildren, Ethan Hilton and Kyeser Price; sister-in-law, Kay Roseanne Jospeh; and one nephew, Richard and two nieces, Jeanine and Stephanie all of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers in childhood; and brother-in-law, BJ Joseph.
The Funeral Liturgy for Dick will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church presided by Fr. Tom Murphy. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, where there will be a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
