ADRIAN – Doretta “Dottie” Aldrich, age 75, of Adrian, passed away on November 14, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 20, 1942 in Wayne to August and Marjorie (May) Grabowski. On July 2, 1960 in Plymouth, Dottie married Fred “Skip” Aldrich and he survives. Dottie was co-owner of Aldrich Oil Company. She worked as an office manager at the Lenawee County Fair and for Robertson, Eaton, and Owen Accounting Firm. Dottie was a member of the Agricultural Society at the Lenawee County Fair and ran the kids bowling leagues on Saturday mornings. She enjoyed crafting, was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, had her dad’s ability for wood crafting and used to bowl. Dottie never missed her grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to her husband, Skip, Dottie is survived by one son, Guy (Lynn) Aldrich of Brooklyn; two daughters, Tricia (John) Ellerholz and Julie (Shane) Griewahn all of Adrian; brother, Richard (Joyce) Grabowski of Indian River; sister; Marion “Pat” Weimer of Mackinaw City; three grandchildren, Chelsea Ellerholz, Jacob and Abigail Griewahn; four step grandchildren, Scott and Patrick Walper, Sherri Boehm, and Ethan Burciaga; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John “Jack” Grabowski, one granddaughter, Taylor Jane Ellerholz.
Visitation for Dottie will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Bishop Raymond Rosas officiating. Cremation to follow.
