BRADENTON, FL – Frank Joseph Bednarz, age 86 of Bradenton FL, passed away on October 11, 2017, at his daughter’s house under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on October 22, 1930, in Detroit, to Jan and Josephine (Rzepa) Bednarz. On May 19, 1962, Frank married Donna Doonan and she survives. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Frank worked as an Industrial Engineer at General Motors Willow Run Plant, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary’s of Good Counsel Church in Adrian and a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Bradenton, FL, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. Frank loved living in Florida and visiting the beach. He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things around the house.
In addition to his wife, Donna, Frank is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Paul) Bednarz-Vanderhoff of Morenci and two granddaughters, Bridget and Anna Vanderhoff. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass for Frank will be held on October 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s of Good Counsel Church, Adrian with Fr. Tom Murphy as Celebrant.
