ADRIAN – Stephen Marvin, age 56, of Adrian, passed away on September 12, 2017, at his home. He was born on October 5, 1960, in Adrian to John and Bertha (Ries) Marvin. Steve graduated from Adrian High School in 1979.
In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his children, Clint Marvin, Tiffany (Dustin) Bishop, and Courtney (Chad Louden) Marvin; granddaughter Olivia Louden; brothers, John (Dawn) Marvin and Brian (Kelly) Marvin; sister, Nancy (Frank) Kirkendall. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Emma Marvin and Vernon and Zola Ries and brother, Michael Marvin Sr.
Steve loved to make people laugh and always went out of his way to brighten other people’s day. He donated much of his free time to volunteering at local organizations and causes close to his heart – particularly the Knights of Columbus and Share the Warmth at the Salvation Army. Steve was a well-known sports enthusiast – he had a life-long passion for basketball and was a die-hard UofM fan. He worked at Cutler-Dickerson Co. for 30+ years and went on to open his own successful business, Adrian Ag. Services LLC.
Visitation for Steve will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Helfrich at Celebrant.
