Larry R. Alcock, age 69, of Blissfield, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, at his home. Larry was born September 19, 1947 in Adrian, Michigan to Lyle and Jennie (Birchfield) Alcock. Larry graduated from Blissfield High School. He served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam from October 18, 1966 – October 18, 1968. On June 14, 1969 Larry married Deborah K Elsten of Blissfield and she survives. He loved bowling, playing billiards and was an all-around sports enthusiast. He had a passion for animals and also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Larry was often seen around town socializing with family and friends and throughout the county attending various sporting events. Larry drove truck for many years until his retirement in 2010 and continued working part-time for various local farmers and factories hauling goods up until two short weeks ago.
Surviving Larry in addition to his wife Deborah, are his children Michele (fiancé David Esty) Madsen of Blissfield and Robert (Jenaca) Alcock of Morenci; Michigan; two brothers, John (Linda) Alcock of Columbia City, Indiana, and Mike Alcock of Blissfield, Michigan; two sisters, Sharon Gunter of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Linda (Don) Michelin of Wetmore, Michigan; nine grandchildren, MacKenzie, Tabitha, Colin, Alexis, Caylob, Dalton, Kyle, Derek and Andrew; one great-grandchild, Curtis and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry is proceeded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for Larry will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home in Blissfield with the Reverend Aden Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield, with Military Honors conducted by the Blissfield American Legion Post #325. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield.
