LYONS, OHIO-Lester R. Hein, age 73, of Lyons, Ohio, died August 14, 2017. He was born September 5, 1943, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Matt and Emily (Cerkas) Hein. He was married to Janice Eicher on December 10, 1971. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2006. Lester had been employed by Sauders. During his school days, he played basketball for St. Mary’s School in Manitowoc. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His love of music was carried throughout his whole life. Les was known as the Jingle Jangle Gospel Man, performing at nursing homes and churches. He had been a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc, where he attended school. He currently attended the First Christian Church.
Les is survived by three sons, Shane (Lori) Hein, Rick (Lisa) Hein and Steve (Linda) Hein all of Lyons, Ohio; three brothers, Jim Hein of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ronald (Heidi) Hein of Tampa, Florida and Phillip (Betty) Hein of Bryan, Ohio; grandchildren, Livia, Kaylee, Emma, Derek, Kyra, Brett, Brendan, Jeremiah, Tanner, Zach, Austin; nine great-grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Pat Wolfe of Adrian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; a step-daughter, Linda Marihugh; and a brother, Bill Hein.
At Lester’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Linda Farley officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Burial of cremains will be in Lyons Cemetery. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
