Hazel Mae Pickens, 70, passed away June 23, 2017 at the Hospice of Lenawee with her family at her side. Born August 6, 1946 in Hackleburg, AL to Marvin and Jewel (Cole) Hudson. She grew up in Adrian, graduated from AHS class of 1965. She worked for 34 years in Tecumseh at the GM Fisher Body Plant. Hazel also sold Avon for many years in Lenawee County. She loved watching NASCAR and was a big Elvis Presley fan. On March 8, 1971, she married Jerry Pickens and they had two daughters, Malena and Anje.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters Malena (Daniel) Robertson and Anje (Henry) Nieto. Grandchildren, Coleten, Brody, Jada Robertson, Kloe, Hunter Knisel, which she was very proud of. Brothers, David (Deb) Hudson, Carl (Theresa) Hudson, Charles Hudson; sisters, Mary (Bill) Fox, Fayetta Steffen. She leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Justin Robertson, sister, Kathleen (Terry) Wright, brother, Daniel Hudson, brother-in-law, David Steffen, sister-in-law, Sharon Hudson.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. held at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian with Pastor Doug Chandler officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home and before services from, 10-11 a.m. Final resting place will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Adrian. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations in Hazel’s honor to the Family for future designation or Hospice of Lenawee.
