ADRIAN – Charles F. Bartlett, age 90, of Adrian, died suddenly at his home on May 17, 2017. He was born February 6, 1927 in Detroit to Albert and Annie (Banfield) Bartlett. He served in the US Army from 1945-1946. On September 27, 1947, he married Dorothy Susick and she survives. He had been employed as a manager at various private clubs, retiring from the Lenawee Country Club. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Ushers Club, the Knights of Columbus Council #1665, the Club Managers Association of America, the Detroit Club Managers Association, and a member of the Kiwanis Club.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Arthur (Karen) Bartlett of Carmel, IN, Midge (Ron) Knudson of Royal Oak, MI, David (Lisa) Bartlett of Clarkston, MI, Michael Bartlett of Holly, MI and Teresa Borders of Shelby Twp., MI; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, and a son-in-law, Ray Borders.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Murphy as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian where there will be a vigil prayer service held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, May 22, 2017, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
