LUTHER: Kenneth Leroy Stites, age 70 of Luther, Michigan, formerly of Onsted, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home under the loving care of hospice. He was one of fourteen children born to Glenn V. and Mildred E. (Wellhoff) Stites on February 9, 1947 in Adrian, MI. Ken was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving two combat tours with the United States Army from 1965 to 1968. Upon returning from the war, he went to work for Ford Motor Company in Saline, retiring in 1998. Ken later moved to Northern Michigan and spent his days in the great outdoors hunting as often as he could.
Surviving are three daughters, KenDora LeVeaux of Tazewell, VA, Rebecca (Kris) Blanchard of Cedar Springs, MI and Tammy (Lawrence) Pabolo of Adrian, MI; four granddaughters, Grace LeVeaux, Lillian Blanchard, and Angelita and Esther Pabolo; three brothers, Carl Stites, Douglas (Lillie) Stites and Frederick Stites; three sisters, Marjorie Lawrence, Jeannine (Charles) McIntyre and Jeanette (Nathan) Palmer, and his feline companion, Caesar. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Ken will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Burial will follow in Franklin Township Cemetery in Tipton with full military rites being conducted by the Onsted American Legion Post #550. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. You may send condolences to the family at
