ADRIAN- Richard Earl Jacobs, age 88, of Adrian died February 10, 2018.
He was born April 1, 1929, in Detroit to Walter Paul and Margaret (Schmitz) Jacobs. On August 12, 1950, he married Hazel L. Kershner and she survives. He was a member of St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. He and his wife, Hazel, had been owners of Jacobs Flying Service from 1958-1995.
In addition to his wife, Hazel, he is survived by his children, Michael (Emma) Jacobs of Tennessee, Mark (Jane) Jacobs of Oklahoma, Marieta Borzym of Illinois, Maxine (Ted) Gritzmaker of Michigan, Matthew (Deborah) Jacobs of Michigan, M. Richard (Joyce) Jacobs of California, and Melissa (Jami Smith) Jacobs of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Aimee (Adam) Thurlow, Becky (Martin) Frye, Heather (Jim) Bechard, Marie (Greg) Kaufmann, Sarah (Andy) Founier, Theresa and Chad (Kasie) Gritzmaker, Landan and Kaitlyn Jacobs, Ryan, Samantha, and Amanda Jacobs; 9 great-grandchildren, Katerina and Jake Thurlow, Joseph and Jonathan Frye, Anna Marie, Elise, Ernest Bechard, Hannah and Chase Gritzmaker, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and Robert, and a sister, Marjorie.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church, Adrian. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church, Adrian with Fr. Tom Murphy as celebrant. A private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
