Jose “Joe” Ybarra, age 67 of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Blissfield passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 15, 1951 to Jose and Refugia (Gonzales) Ybarra. On September 16, 2000 in Cleveland, Ohio he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sharon Rayzor.
Joe was a graduate of Blissfield High School and attended Wayne State University. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and upon returning home, Joe was employed for 40 years with Anderson Development in Adrian, before retiring. Joe, absolutely loved music, including playing his guitar and enjoying concert DVD’s with his best friend, Dave in his man cave. He was the biggest jokester and enjoyed pulling pranks every chance he got. His family spoke about Joes “work detail lists” and what a great “supervisor” he was. His most special times, were those spent with his family and getting together for “Fiesta’s”.
Surviving Joe, is his wife Sharon Ybarra; four daughters, Elisa (John) Ybarra Atherton, Josette Ybarra, Cynthia Ybarra, Florencia (C.J.) Newell; a son, Eric Einhorn; a brother, Dirio (Kaymarie) Ybarra; four sisters, Yolanda (Chon) Hernandez, Mary (Ray) Orozco, Marta (Bob) Hoffman, Rosemary Orozco; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Dave Hernandez and his “little buddy”, Gulliver.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and brother-ln-law David Orozco.
Visitation for Joe will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3-6 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Mass for Joe at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Light of Christ Catholic Parish (St. Peter’s Catholic Church) in Blissfield with Fr. Jeff Poll presiding. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield with Military honors conducted by the Blissfield American Legion Post 325.
