Richard Nieto, age 67, of Adrian, passed away on December 29, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 20, 1950, in Taylor, TX to Alex and Manuela (Vargas) Nieto. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army and continued working as a Staff Sergeant for the government, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed ice skating, dancing, sports, NASACR racing, spending time with his grandkids and most of all, he loved life.
Richard is survived by his father, Alex; son, Dominic Nieto of Germany; two daughters, Diane (Cornelius) Nieto of Jackson and Michelle (Markus Sturm) Nieto of Germany; four brothers, Alex (Mary Lou) Nieto of Adrian, Rudy Nieto of Stanton, Gilbert (Jayne) Nieto of Adrian, and Tony Nieto of Adrian; three sisters, Susie (Matt) Saldivar of Albion, Julie Chandler of Adrian, and Ruthie (Keith) Whipple of Adrian; four grandchildren, Monique Nieto, Elias Nieto, Joshua Sturm, and Lelia Schoeffler. He was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Richard will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with a gathering beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. A committal service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
