Jeanette Louise Lennon, age 93, of Adrian, died Saturday, April 01, 2017 at Provincial House with her family by her side.
She was born March 28, 1924, in Adrian to Elroy and Anna (Haag) Barney. On July 30, 1955, she married William (Mike) Lennon in St. Joseph’s Church rectory and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2008. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1942. Prior to marriage, she was employed at Western Union in Stubnitz Greene Spring Corp. She was employed at Bixby hospital from 1967 to 1977 and Lenawee Medical Care Facility from 1979 until her retirement in 1987. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a member of the council of Catholic Women and a member of SAMS (Senior Adult Ministry). Besides being with her family and friends, she enjoyed reading and writing poems and short stories. She wrote many poems for many occasions.
She is survived by a son, Dale, of Adrian; a daughter, Linda Fuller of Hobe Sound, FL; two granddaughters, Jaimelynn (George) Lewis and Miranda Lennon; and four great grandchildren, Kolten, Gavin, and Madilynn Lewis, and Christopher Rozelle; a sister in law, Therese Barney and several nieces and nephews. Besides her folks and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald and a brother, Robert Barney.
The Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Kurien Kollapallil, as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral home, Adrian with a Vigil Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation in the baptistery of the church an hour preceding the funeral. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
