Rev. Carol A. Miller

REV. CAROL A. MILLER, age 78, of Saginaw, formerly of Adrian and Grand Rapids, MI, went to be with her Lord on March 21, 2017 at Cartwright Residence. Carol fought a courageous 17 year battle with Parkinson’s disease and spent her last year receiving exemplary care at Cartwright Residence. She was born April 2, 1938, in Columbus, OH to Iliff (Bob) and Nadine (Hinman) Cruse who preceded her in death. On March 3, 1962, she married Harry O. Miller in Grand Rapids, MI where they raised their family. Carol graduated from Fremont High School, Calvin College, and McCormick Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity. Reverend Miller was a member of the Lake Huron Presbytery and past member of the Maumee Valley Presbytery. She served as pastor of the Cadmus Presbyterian Church from 1995 to 2004.

Carol retired to Saginaw and worked as Pastoral Visitor and Adult Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Church. She also kept busy by filling in at area churches. She gave wonderful sermons and thoroughly enjoyed ministering. Carol was a founding member of the Grand Rapids Habitat for Humanity Board and a long time member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Harry, who passed on November 4, 2005. She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Miller of Alexandria, VA and Peter M. Miller of Grand Rapids, MI; a daughter, Jennifer Nolan Heyn (Greg) of Saginaw, MI; a sister, Marjorie Werner of Chicago, IL; a former son-in-law R. Michael Nolan of Clio, MI; and three grandchildren, Samuel, Laura, and William Nolan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw, MI on Sunday, March 26 at 3 PM with Reverend Ted McCulloch officiating. Visitation will occur at 2 PM in the hour preceding the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in East Rome Cemetery in Adrian, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cadmus Presbyterian Church, Eastminister Presbyterian Church, or First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw.
